Earth Hour!! Let's Continue Our Support...

Earth Hour has passed. Does everyone did what they should do? Switch off all the lights...did they? Well, some of the houses that are aware of this did but not all...sad to say that many people are not aware of this. There are a few houses in my housing area here did, but most of them who did so are students and they are aware of it. I'm HAPPY to say that I DID IT!!! I OFF THE LIGHTS IN MY HOUSE!!!! YEAH....

Why is that people are so not aware of this thing? It is to help save the earth. Our earth is facing doom soon and yet people are still not aware of it. It means that Earth Hour is still not a success yet in Malaysia. Hopefully next year, more people will be aware of it. Let's Save The Earth!!!! Hope that next year will have more people join in. More event will take place and hope that my uni will take part too...its sad to see that my uni did not do anything for this event. :-(

New Rules...

Yeah...finally all presentations are done!!!! And now I'm left with one assignment and 2 tests to do. After that I am to concentrate on my finals already. I better do well or not I'm going to get it from myself. Hopefully I can do well this time. I need to brush up my studies!!!! Ok....why am I saying so its because UTAR no more resitting papers!!! Only can repeat, which means if someone fails a subject, he/she has to attend class, tutorials, practicals for that subject again next semester. Which means waste of time and also waste of money. Why does UTAR have to change to such rules? Means more students will die from this move...do they know that students are stress enough and yet they gave such rules.....which means more stress for the students...well, we can't do anything except work harder. Good Luck to all UTAR students.

Got to get back to my studies now. =)

The Power of Positive Thinking

Key Point
  • You are what you think. You feel what you want.
Why Think Positively?
  • All of our feelings, beliefs and knowledge are based on our internal thoughts, both conscious and subconscious. We are in control, whether we know it or not.
  • We can be positive or negative, enthusiastic or dull, active or passive.
  • The biggest difference between people is their attitudes. For some, learning is enjoyable and exciting. For others, learning is a drudgery. For many, learning is just okay, something required on the road to a job.

"Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."
Abraham Lincoln

  • Our present attitudes are habits, built from the feedback of parents, friends, society and self, that form our self-image and our world-image.
  • These attitudes are maintained by the inner conversations we constantly have with ourselves, both consciously and subconsciously.
  • The first step in changing our attitudes is to change our inner conversations.

What Should We Be Saying?

  • One approach is called the three C's: Commitment, Control and Challenge.

Commitment
  • Make a positive commitment to yourself, to learning, work, family, friends, nature, and other worthwhile causes. Praise yourself and others. Dream of success. Be enthusiastic.

Control
  • Keep your mind focused on important things. Set goals and priorities for what you think and do. Visualize to practice your actions. Develop a strategy for dealing with problems. Learn to relax. Enjoy successes. Be honest with yourself.

Challenge
  • Be courageous. Change and improve each day. Do your best and don't look back. See learning and change as opportunities. Try new things. Consider several options. Meet new people. Ask lots of questions. Keep track of your mental and physical health. Be optimistic.

Studies show that people with these characteristics are winners in good times and survivors in hard times.

Research shows that, "... people who begin consciously to modify their inner conversations and assumptions report an almost immediate improvement in their performance. Their energy increases and things seem to go better ..."

Commitment, control and challenge help build self-esteem and promote positive thinking. Here are some other suggestions.

7 Suggestions for Building Positive Attitudes
  • In every class, look for positive people to associate with.
  • In every lecture, look for one more interesting idea.
  • In every chapter, find one more concept important to you.
  • With every friend, explain a new idea you've just learned.
  • With every teacher, ask a question.
  • With yourself, keep a list of your goals, positive thoughts and actions.
  • Remember, you are what you think, you feel what you want.

Update1

Its been quite some time since I last came in to blog. Things starts to get busy and there isn't much time to do everything. Sometimes I wonder why is there so much to do; been settling stuffs since then and it seems that the things won't be done. How come?

After Chinese New Year holidays, I came back to continue my studies. Enough of play for 1 week. Its more than enough and workload starts to pile up. Replacement classes are up and classes are everyday till 5-6pm. Its even longer than working hours. OMG....luckily there's no more than 24 hours in a day or the lecturers will have the replacement classes till 10pm.....noooooo I don't want that to happen.

Many things happened and I'm too lazy to type it out here...running out of time now...there's 2 tests on Saturday and I haven't even finish studying for it. How am I going to die now??? I just wish that there is always extra time to let me finish my works but seems like there isn't. Even if I sleep less, there isn't enough time to pass around. And another thing, sleeping less means getting moody faster. And when I'm moody, I rather keep to myself cause I afraid that I will burst out....and when that happens, everyone, including my good friends will get a good soclding from me. That is the time where the real me will show up and people will start to run away. It's good that they know to run. Some people doesn't and I wonder why. Aren't you afraid of the real me?

On what happened the past few weeks, I'll blog again later as I have to study for my mid-terms already. I am already running out of time...as I said, "so much things to do, yet so little time." Adios~
